A micro wedding is a wedding that involves up to 50 guests, usually including close family members and a select few friends. Micro weddings became more popular during the 2020 pandemic and are still popular today.
The Hubbard Park Lodge is a small venue in Shorewood that is off the beaten path a little. There is a tunnel that takes your guests from a small parking lot nestled into a neighborhood to a park and building where small weddings can take place. Most of my weddings have been conducted riverside with a reception to follow in the lodge. The lodge can hold a max of 175 guests so that makes it perfect for micro weddings. This location is very convenient for Milwaukee area guests and is a beautiful setting for some amazing photos.
The Loft and Chapel in Waukesha is such a cute little venue. It is all inclusive so everything can be done in one location which is ideal for those small micro weddings. The gazebo is a great setting for the ceremony and for formal photos. If most of your guests are closer to the Waukesha area, this might be a great choice for you.
Glacier Hills, in Hubertus, is one of my all-time favorite parks. It has the cutest little chapel where wedding ceremonies can take place but it also has a very nice sized reception area. The trees and water around this park make for some gorgeous photos without having to go very far. I love the uniqueness and privateness of this location. I have shot senior pictures and weddings here - they are both amazing.

Because a micro wedding is smaller, you can make the experience for your guests more personalized and memorable. You can make hand-written placecards for each person. Since you'll have to narrow down your guest list to those you are closest to, it shouldn't be hard to have something meaningful for each and every guest. It’s much easier to add those really special touches for 12 people than it is for 200!
A personalized experience for your guests
Reduced wedding costs are the biggest benefit of a micro wedding. Of course, the cost of a micro wedding depends on personal choices from guest count and venue to décor. However, you can expect the cost to be over 50 percent less than that of a traditional wedding.

Freedom
When planning a large traditional wedding it can often include a lot of formalities and expectations that brides and grooms today just don't care about. With a micro wedding there usually no requirements - you do you! There are no tight timelines, you have flexibility to make every part of the day what you want. And with less guests to accomodate, your time really is freed up to focus on you.
Kelly was absolutely amazing! She was extremely easy to work with through the whole process and our pictures turned out fantastic! She really did a great job of capturing our day and we got the pictures back so quickly! I’m thrilled with the way that everything turned out.

I loved working with Kelly. She is responds back very quickly to emails/ phone calls. All of my photos were gorgeous; she did a great job directing us for shots. She was on time to each site, even with 2 of them not being easy to find. I would highly recommend her for any event!

"It has been so nice working with you. We truly love our engagement photos so I have no doubt our wedding photos will be amazing! Thank you!"

Working with Kelly was so easy! Quite a few things on our wedding day didn't go according to plan (rain up until and immediately after our outdoor ceremony, no working music, rowdy kids, scattered photo subjects to name a few), but Kelly just worked through it. As a bride, that helped me just go with whatever happened and enjoy the moments as they came. Kelly moved smoothly through the ceremony and reception, always there but never in the way. It was such a great experience working with her and we will definitely use her services again and again.
