Emily and Kevin were married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, WI on October 10th with a reception at the Koshkonong Mounds Country Club. I think I have been to Fort Atkinson maybe once in my life, and I definitely had never shot a wedding there. I was pleasantly surprised. This location was beautiful and the weather was perfect. Other than a cool breeze from time to time, it was great weather for a wedding.
My favorite part of Emily and Kevin’s wedding day was when Emily and her grandpa shared a polka during the reception. You could see a very special bond between them and their dance made me smile. It really made my heart melt. I don’t think I was alone either. I saw a few sweet tears shed as family members watched them share the dance.
I hadn’t met Emily and Kevin before I shot their wedding. They had a few small details sprinkled throughout the day that really showed their personalities and their relationship with each other. They do have a very fun story to tell as the start of their relationship since they met in Germany. However, that story doesn’t compare to the story that lives behind that mystery pineapple that made an appearance at the reception. There HAD to be a good story behind that pineapple. I wish I would have found out what that was!
Here are a few of my favorite photos from Emily and Kevin’s wedding day:
